No Justice, No More

Written by on October 20, 2013

Well after 12 years… and the only Texas Red Dirt scene that I know… No Justice decided to retire. I can remember the very first time I saw these guys in Beaumont at our favorite place, Wild Bills. It’s where we met some of our dearest friends and certainly where we cut our teeth on this amazing music we call Texas Red Dirt.

I’m sad to see these guys retire. It’s the end of an era. But last year, Steve Rice (lead singer and guitarist for the band) had several health issues involving his heart. Lord knows that when we are tested in our health, it forces us to make life altering decisions. This is one of those things.

In a statement on Facebook, Steve addressed the rumors (imagine that… folks starting rumors about people they know nothing about) that have been circulating the interwebs regarding the break up.

In a nutshell, Steve talks about his health issues and assures everyone that this is simply a way for him to focus on what he loves MOST…. his family. Kudos to you SR and Kudos to NJ for always being a stellar band and always putting on one of the best live shows I’ve seen. Drop Steve and the rest of the guys a note to say thank you for 12 years of giving to us. Best of luck to them all in the future. I sure am going to miss them.
